1. Confirm what is installed

  1. Park safely.
  2. On the central display, open Settings → General.
  3. Tap the XOS version number at the top.
  4. Record the complete version shown on your own vehicle, rather than relying on a version quoted online.

2. Prepare the car

  1. Park somewhere safe where the vehicle can remain locked and unused.
  2. Make sure the car has a working internet connection.
  3. Finish charging first because the vehicle cannot charge during installation.
  4. Allow more time than the estimate and do not start shortly before an essential journey.

3. Reserve the update in the car

  1. Open the new-version notification from the status-bar update icon or the System Update section.
  2. Read the release information and confirm that the update is intended for your vehicle.
  3. Tap Reserve Update and choose a time when the car will not be needed.
  4. Tap OK, leave the vehicle and lock it before the chosen time.

You can return to the update page and cancel the reservation before installation begins.

4. Start remotely in the XPENG app

  1. Open the new-version notification or update card in the app.
  2. Enter the remote system-update page.
  3. Confirm the correct vehicle and version, then tap Update Now.
  4. Leave the vehicle locked and wait for the app or car to report completion.

Automatic updates

In Update Settings, Auto Update can install a detected release at 3:00 am without another manual confirmation. Enable this only if the car is normally parked safely and will not be needed at that time.

If installation fails

  1. Read the exact condition or error shown and make a note of it.
  2. Meet the stated conditions, then use Retry once.
  3. If it fails again, record the installed version and error and contact XPENG support.

Do not drive if the vehicle warns that functions may be abnormal. Do not interrupt power, attempt unofficial installation or try to roll the software back yourself.
