Four steps. Use your own figures wherever possible.
The result changes instantly as you edit a field. It estimates energy and charging—it does not select real chargepoints or provide turn-by-turn navigation.
- 1Choose the closest vehicle preset
Select the closest listed G6, G9, P7+ or X9 version. If it is not listed, choose Custom and enter the usable battery capacity and your own realistic full-charge range. Every preset is only a starting point.
- 2Set how you will begin and finish
Starting charge is the battery percentage when you leave. Arrival reserve is the minimum percentage you want remaining at each planned stop or destination—15% is the default safety buffer.
- 3Describe the real journey
Enter the total one-way or return distance you actually want calculated. Choose the dominant road type, temperature, climate use and heavier load. These reduce the reference range using visible planning allowances.
- 4Enter realistic charging assumptions
Target is the percentage you expect to leave each rapid charger with. Use expected average charging power—not the car or charger peak—and the current price shown by the charging network.
Show a worked example
Example: a 320-mile trip in a G6 Long Range, leaving at 90%, arriving with at least 15%, in mild mixed-road conditions.
Select New G6 RWD Long Range, enter 320 miles, leave the default 90% start and 15% reserve, then choose the expected rapid-charge target, average power and live p/kWh price. Read the result panel for the estimated first leg, likely number of stops, energy bought, ideal plug-in time and charging cost.
Before departing, use the vehicle navigation or a live charging app to choose actual compatible stops and alternatives.

- Confirm the exact vehicle.Use the handbook, registration documentation and vehicle display—not only a model name.
- Check live conditions.Traffic, wind, rain, temperature, gradients and diversions can change consumption.
- Choose alternatives.Identify more than one compatible chargepoint and check live operator information.
- Watch the car.The vehicle’s current energy prediction and warnings take priority as the journey develops.
Speed and temperature matter
Motorway drag, a cold battery, cabin heating, wind and load can reduce the distance available from the same displayed charge.
