G6 · DOCUMENTED FIRST CHECK

Voice commands.
For your XPENG.

Start with the steering-wheel voice button and one simple command while parked. The steps and examples below follow the 2025 English RHD G6 handbook for XOS V5.8.0; check the fitted equipment and matching screen.

Get the assistant listening

  1. Park and open vehicle controls → Voice Assistant. Turn Voice Assistant on.
  2. Choose the downloaded language under Voice Assistant Language Selection. Turn on Hey XPENG if you want spoken wake-up.
  3. Press the steering-wheel voice button and say “Turn on AC”. Check that the climate screen responds. Try the wake word separately after the button works.
  4. Try one command for equipment your car has. Check its actual setting or movement before trying another.

Examples printed in that handbook

  • “Turn on AC” — switch on air conditioning.
  • “Turn on recirculation” — change the cabin air intake.
  • “Open the window” — check the intended window responds.
  • “Open fast charge port” — use while parked with the flap clear.
  • “Take me home” — requires a saved Home destination.
  • “Pause” or “Play music” — check the current media response.

If it does not respond

Button works, wake word does not: check Hey XPENG is enabled and reduce loud music or fan noise. Wrong seat or window responds: check recognition zones in Voice Assistant and use the normal seated position. Climate works but an online request fails: compare the vehicle internet connection; the handbook allows basic local climate, seat, window and lighting controls without internet.

No voice response but the normal climate control works: check assistant enablement, the downloaded language and the displayed reply. Keep that exact phrase, reply, seat and full XOS build if XPENG needs to investigate; a whole-car reset is not the first check.

Test while parked and keep people clear of powered windows, closures and seats. Voice recognition can misunderstand; verify the actual result.
