Mirror adjustment uses the screen to select the function and the steering-wheel controls to move the glass. If voice control does not understand “wing mirrors”, use the screen route instead. Park before changing anything.
Checked 17 October 2026 against the original UK G6 handbook and XPENG UK's starting guide. Later G6 editions and XOS layouts can differ: match the handbook supplied with your car. This guide concerns the exterior door mirrors, not a streaming interior mirror.
Open the controls without relying on voice recognition
- Stop safely and select Park. Start with the correct driver profile.
- Swipe down on the central touchscreen and select mirror adjustment. XPENG UK's starting guide confirms this shortcut. The original handbook also gives Settings → Drive → Side Mirrors.
- With the mirror panel open, follow its steering-wheel prompts. The original handbook assigns the rollers and adjacent left/right controls to mirror adjustment. Make small changes and check the view before closing the panel.
Do not press the glass by hand or keep commanding movement at its limit. See the UK starting guide, page 3 and UK handbook, printed pages 216–218.
Why did the position change after another driver used the car?
The original handbook says the adjusted lens position is saved to the current driving habits. Before adjusting again, check which profile is active. Record whether the change follows a profile switch or happens within the same profile; those are different symptoms.
For a useful comparison, park in the same place, photograph the mirror view and note the profile and XOS version. Repeat after an ordinary lock/unlock cycle. Avoid repeated full resets: they remove useful evidence and may change unrelated preferences.
Reverse dip: too much kerb and not enough view?
The original UK handbook documents separate left/right “Tilt down … when reversing” controls in the mirror panel. It describes a set downward movement when Reverse is selected. It does not establish a user procedure for storing a custom reverse-dip angle.
If the dip is unhelpful, switch it off for the affected side and set a suitable normal mirror view. Check the result during your next normal, safe parking manoeuvre. Do not select Reverse merely to experiment where the car could move into people or objects. Use direct observation as well as mirrors and cameras.
A UK owner-group question prompted this section. We have not turned another market's video, an undocumented button sequence or a comment into a claimed UK feature. If your later handbook explicitly offers a custom dip angle, follow that edition.
Folding is a separate setting
The original mirror panel provides Fold/Unfold and an automatic folding-on-lock option. A mirror folding normally does not prove the doors are locked, and a disabled folding preference is not a door-lock fault. Check the lock itself separately.
What to record if one side still will not adjust
- Which side and which movement fail: glass angle, reverse dip or the complete housing folding.
- Whether the screen panel opens and the other side responds.
- Whether the fault follows the driver profile, a normal restart or a software update.
- A short parked video of the command and response, plus the model year and XOS version.
If there is damage, repeated clicking or a displaced housing, stop exercising it. Do not force it or dismantle the assembly. Ask for the specific failed movement to be checked using your recorded conditions. If the mirror cannot provide a safe view, resolve that before driving.
PRACTICAL NEXT STEP · MyXPENG
Test the behaviour. Keep the evidence.
Applies to: Original UK G6 mirror adjustment, profile memory and reverse-dip guidance; do not assume every XOS menu is identical.
Evidence checked · Review due
Review is due. Recheck the primary source and your exact version before relying on changing details.
First useful check
While parked, set a safe normal mirror view before comparing stored recall and reverse dip separately.
Read the result
Normal adjustment working but recall or reverse dip differing is a profile/feature distinction, not proof the motor is faulty.
Stop or change approach: Do not adjust through a sequence while moving or force a mirror housing.
Prepare a useful record
XOS, active profile, side, adjustment versus recall and reverse-only result.

Evidence and answer standard
Documented checks; outcome depends on the test. The date records an evidence review, not a physical test of your car. A forum report can identify a question; it cannot establish a universal repair.
