XPENG vehicles can provide sophisticated driving and parking assistance, but these systems do not remove the driver’s responsibility.

Know the operating limits

Road markings, weather, visibility, sensor obstruction, unusual vehicles and complex junctions can affect performance. Functions may also differ by software version and market approval.

Before using a function

  • Read the exact handbook section for your model.
  • Understand how the function is activated and cancelled.
  • Keep cameras and sensors clean.
  • Use assistance only in suitable conditions.

While driving

Remain attentive, monitor traffic and keep control of the vehicle. Be ready to brake or steer immediately. Never rely on a display animation as proof that every hazard has been detected.

After an update

Re-read changed settings and assistance notes. Do not assume behaviour is identical to the previous software version.

Step-by-step before the first use

  1. Identify the exact function in the handbook; similar names can have different operating limits.
  2. Read how it starts, how it confirms activation and how the driver cancels it.
  3. Check cameras, radar areas and the windscreen are clean and unobstructed.
  4. Set mirrors, seat and steering position before moving.
  5. Begin in familiar, suitable conditions with full attention and enough space to take over smoothly.

While assistance is active

Confirm the display shows the expected active state, but continue watching the road rather than the animation. Keep hands and feet ready to intervene, maintain a safe gap and never use a phone or perform another task. Cancel assistance early if lane markings disappear, weather worsens, roadworks begin or another road user behaves unpredictably.

After an intervention or unexpected response

  1. Take full control first.
  2. When safely parked, write down the road, speed, weather, XOS version and function in use.
  3. Check for blocked sensors or a displayed warning.
  4. Do not repeatedly recreate a dangerous event.

If steering, braking or acceleration assistance behaves unexpectedly more than once, leave the affected function off and provide the details to XPENG support. For a collision, warning requiring an immediate stop, or an unsafe vehicle condition, follow the handbook and roadside or emergency instructions.
