2026 XPENG G6 Safety Features and XPILOT Systems

XPENG UK lists seven airbags and a range of driving, parking and collision-support systems for the New G6. Equipment differs by derivative: its current model page excludes ALC and the driving recorder from Standard Range, and assistance remains under the driver’s supervision.

XPENG G6 Safety and Driver Assistance: Verify the UK Specification — XPENG owner guide

Learn the fitted controls at handover

  1. Identify the function on your exact derivative. Ask the retailer to show its UK equipment entry and matching handbook. Standard Range does not include ALC or the driving recorder on the current UK page.
  2. While parked, identify how to select and cancel it. Have the retailer point out the difference between off, available/standby and actively assisting on that software. A sensor graphic or camera image alone does not establish active steering or recording.
  3. Understand the settings before use. For cruise/lane support, identify following distance, set speed, driver warnings and cancellation. For parking, identify its permitted manoeuvre, supervision and stopping control. Use the separate G6 ACC/LCC guide only if its earlier-edition controls match your handbook.
  4. Use only the function and conditions you understand. If it is unavailable, read the displayed explanation, check for an obstruction message and follow the matching handbook’s accessible sensor-cleaning instructions. A function that is off or waiting is not necessarily faulty.

You should know: which assistance is fitted, how its active state is shown, what it controls and how to cancel before relying on it.

If the behaviour is unexpected

Take control and keep the affected assistance off if the problem repeats. Once parked, give XPENG the exact function, model/build, warning and road/weather context, and ask it to distinguish obstruction, configuration and a fault. Abnormal braking or steering with assistance off needs urgent qualified inspection.

Remain responsible for braking and steering. Poor markings, roadworks, glare and weather can limit assistance; do not recreate dangerous behaviour to test it.

Driving assistance

  • ACC: controls cruising speed and the selected following gap; it does not replace your brake pedal.
  • LCC: adds steering assistance to keep within a suitable detected lane; hold the wheel and monitor the road.
  • ALC: assists a lane change where fitted and available; it is not included on Standard Range.
  • Adaptive Turning Cruise (ATC)
  • Surrounding Reality display

Derivative difference: XPENG UK states that ALC is not available on the RWD Standard Range.

Parking assistance

  • Enhanced Auto Parking (EAP)
  • Auto Exit Parking Assist (AEP)
  • Remote Parking Assist by phone and key
  • Remote Vehicle Summons (RVS)
  • Surrounding Video System (SVS)

Collision, lane and driver monitoring

  • Forward Distance Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Traffic Sign Recognition, Speed Assistant System and Intelligent High Beam
  • Driver State Monitoring
  • Blind Spot Detection and Door Open Warning
  • Lane Departure Warning, Emergency Lane Keeping and Lane Keep Assistance
  • Rear Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

XPENG UK states that the driving recorder is not available on the RWD Standard Range.
