Start with the correct UK variant
- Standard Range: 332 miles combined WLTP
- Long Range: 382 miles combined WLTP
- Performance AWD: 360 miles combined WLTP
WLTP is a controlled comparison figure, not a guaranteed journey distance. Speed, cold, wind, rain, gradients, heating, tyres and passenger load can all reduce real range.
Plan a journey step by step
- Select the exact X9 variant rather than a generic vehicle profile.
- Enter the destination and choose a comfortable arrival reserve.
- Plan the first stop before the predicted battery level becomes uncomfortable.
- Prefer a hub with several compatible rapid chargers.
- Check live availability in the network operator’s app shortly before arrival.
- If the UK handbook instructs it, set the charger as the vehicle-navigation destination so battery preparation can begin.
- Keep a second compatible site in reserve and recheck it after delays or diversions.
What the 12-minute claim means
XPENG states a claimed 10–80% DC charge in 12 minutes and announced maximum inputs of 537 or 542 kW depending on variant. These are controlled-condition capability figures. They do not predict every public session.
If charging is slower than expected
- Check the charger’s rating and whether its site shares power.
- Note the arrival percentage and whether the battery had time to reach a suitable temperature.
- Read errors on both the charger and car before disconnecting.
- Try a second compatible stall if the first appears faulty.
- Record time, percentages, peak power, energy added, charger ID, weather and warning text.
Stop safely if the plug or inlet is damaged, unusually hot or the vehicle instructs you to disconnect. MyXPENG will keep manufacturer claims separate from model-identified UK owner observations.
