XPENG X9 scheduled charging not starting

On an X9 with the earlier 2025 English RHD interface, open Charging and Discharging → Charging → Slow Charging Appointment. On the matching MY26 V5.8.5 interface, use Settings → Energy → Charging and its slow-charging appointment. For a car-controlled AC schedule, set the start/end times, use one scheduler and connect before the start; the complete edition-specific steps are below.

Use this route when your supplied handbook and controls match the X9 2025 international English RHD, PDF 320–322 edition. The MY26 V5.8.5 route is given separately below; match the screen to the named edition.

Start here

Use AC slow charging while parked. Check the actual tariff window and local clock, target charge and ready supply; note existing car, wallbox and energy-app settings before changing them. If an energy provider controls charging, keep its supported configuration.

  1. For the X9 to control the schedule, disable scheduled/reservation charging in the wallbox or charging-pile app. If your energy provider controls charging, keep its supported setup instead of adding this car timer.
  2. On the X9 CID open Charging and Discharging, then Charging.
  3. Set the Slow Charging Appointment start and end time.
  4. Plug in the connector, verify the waiting/scheduled status and lock the vehicle.
  5. Check at the start time whether both the CID and charge point show active charging.

MY26 X9: set an AC charging window

For the MY26 English RHD X9 handbook, V5.8.5, use Settings → Energy → Charging. This section is for the car controlling the schedule. If your energy provider controls charging, keep its supported configuration instead of adding a competing car timer.

  1. Prepare the schedule before the session. Check the local clock, actual tariff window and a charge limit above the current battery percentage. If the car is already charging, end that session normally before enabling its appointment.
  2. Enable slow-charging appointment and set both times. On the Charging screen, choose the start and end times you need. For this car-controlled setup, disable the separate chargepoint-app reservation. The official app also provides XPENG → Settings → Charging Management for setting the schedule.
  3. Connect before the start time. Insert the compatible AC plug fully, complete any normal wallbox authorisation and lock the car normally. Connecting only after the chosen start can miss the appointment.
  4. Check the start, then the stop. At the start time, the car and chargepoint should show active charging and increasing delivered energy. The session stops at the selected end time or charge limit, whichever is reached first.

Need to start before the appointment? On this MY26 screen, tap Start Charging. Check that energy begins flowing. If it does, the car and supply can charge: correct the single intended schedule’s times and verify its next window. If it does not, check the displayed cable/authorisation state and any fault message before changing the timer again.

What success looks like

The X9 acknowledges the schedule before the window and begins AC charging after the chosen start. One active controller avoids the “car waits for charger while charger waits for car” failure.

Stop for a fault warning, heat, smell, damage or internally wet charging equipment. Only compare immediate charging without those symptoms; check tariff cost first, restore your original settings afterwards and follow an energy provider’s required setup. Do not use a battery disconnect or emergency connector release for a timer problem.

If that did not work

While parked, first check that the target is above the battery’s current percentage; reaching the target correctly stops charging.

Compare one immediate session

  1. For a supervised immediate-charge comparison on the earlier 2025 interface, open Charging and Discharging → Charging, switch Slow Charging Appointment off, and make the wallbox supply available using its normal control. Keep an energy-provider-managed installation in its required configuration and choose an acceptable tariff period.
  2. Connect normally and check for active charging on the car and wallbox.

If energy flows now: the cable/supply can charge the car: restore one intended scheduler, check its local clock, days and start/end times, then verify the next window.

If energy does not flow: read whether the car sees the cable and whether the wallbox is waiting for authorisation or reports a fault. Complete its normal authorisation if requested; stop on a fault rather than repeatedly reconnecting. A timer change cannot repair a missing supply.

Ask XPENG to check the saved appointment and clock behaviour for the exact build. Give the chargepoint operator the session time, unit ID, both status messages and whether immediate charging worked.
