Quick answer
Place the phone at the bottom of the charging area against the stop bar so it can be detected and cooled. The G9 system supports up to 50 W where compatible, but the phone must cover the cooling outlet correctly. Remove metal, cards and magnetic/MagSafe-style cases before testing.
Before you start
Confirm the phone itself supports Qi wireless charging and remove its case for the first test. Dry the tray, remove coins or cards and avoid testing while the phone is already very hot from navigation or direct sun.
- Phone supports wireless charging.
- No metal, magnetic card or liquid is in the tray.
- Cooling outlet is not blocked.
- Wireless charging has not been disabled in the vehicle.
What to do
Before you start, read the complete sequence. Follow these steps in order and stop if the vehicle shows a stronger warning than the one described here.
- Place the phone screen-up in the wireless charging area.
- Slide it along the stop bar to the very bottom so the coil can align and the lower cooling outlet is covered as intended.
- Wait for the charging icon on the central display. If it starts and stops, move the bare phone slightly once rather than repeatedly picking it up.
- Test with another compatible phone to separate vehicle alignment from a phone or case problem.
- Remove the phone when full and stop the test if it becomes uncomfortably hot or a foreign-object warning appears.
Expected result
You should expect the following result when the documented route is successful: The central display shows the wireless-charging icon and the phone maintains charging without repeated connection cycles. Some warmth is normal during prolonged high-power charging; rapid temperature rise, a hot metal object or repeated shutdown is not.
If it still does not work
If two compatible bare phones fail in the correct position, or the cooling fan/outlet appears blocked, stop using the pad and contact XPENG service. If only one phone fails, check its charging settings, temperature protection and manufacturer compatibility.
Safety and model boundary
Do not place water, heavy objects, magnetic cards, coins or metal-backed cases on the pad. People using implanted electronic medical devices should follow the handbook’s distance warning and their device manufacturer’s advice.

What to record before asking for help
Write down the model, model year, current XOS version and the time the problem occurred. Add the exact display wording, the last action that worked and the outcome of each safe check above. For charging issues include the charger type and its indicator; for access issues include the key method used. Do not include a VIN, registration, account password, PIN or verification code in a public post.
Why this matters: menu names, hardware and behaviour can change with market, model year and XOS version. Record the exact wording shown by the car before contacting support. That gives a service adviser a reproducible symptom instead of a general description.
