Use the controls safely
- Park on firm, level ground before comparing vehicle height.
- Use the exact handbook to identify available height, damping or drive-mode settings.
- Read the conditions that restrict adjustment before changing a setting.
- Allow the system to finish moving before comparing left and right height.
Where fitted, the vehicle may alter height automatically according to speed, mode, loading or protection logic.
What may be normal
Brief compressor operation, small corrections after passengers or luggage are added, and some mechanical sound during height adjustment may be normal on vehicles equipped with air suspension.
Checks for a suspected problem
- Confirm the selected mode and place the vehicle on level ground.
- Let adjustment finish, then compare height from consistent reference points.
- Record the load, outside temperature, recent speed and dashboard message.
- Photograph a persistent lean from the same position on both sides.
- Note whether the compressor runs unusually often or the car sinks after parking.
Stop and arrange inspection
A persistent suspension warning, major lean, tyre contact, damaged component, loss of control or inability to maintain a safe ride height needs authorised inspection. Do not use undocumented service menus and never work beneath a vehicle supported only by its air suspension.
