First decide what has frozen
A slow or frozen app is not necessarily a vehicle-control failure. Park safely before touching the display or attempting a restart.
- Check whether only one app is affected or the whole display is unresponsive.
- Confirm whether essential warnings, cameras and climate controls remain available.
- Note what you were doing immediately before the problem appeared.
Safe recovery steps
- Wait briefly. A busy app may recover without intervention.
- If possible, close only the affected app and open it again.
- Disconnect Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and unplug other external devices, then test the native XOS interface.
- If the whole display remains unresponsive, use only the restart method documented for your exact G6 and installed XOS version.
- After the restart, test navigation, audio, cameras and climate access one function at a time while parked.
Expected result: a temporary software or projection problem should clear and the normal controls should return without repeated restarts.
If the problem returns
- Record the complete XOS version, affected app, time and what was connected to the car.
- Take a photo or short video only while safely parked.
- Report repeated freezing, missing safety displays or recurring restarts to XPENG support.
Do not drive if the screen remains black, required safety information is unavailable or the vehicle cannot become ready. Do not disconnect vehicle power or try undocumented button combinations copied from another model.
