Quick answer

A G6 that appears completely dead can have a depleted low-voltage battery even when the traction battery previously showed charge. The 2025 right-hand-drive handbook says the traction battery normally maintains the low-voltage battery, but that support stops when traction-battery charge is too low. Do not assume this is a high-voltage battery failure.

Before you start

First separate a sleeping screen from a vehicle that genuinely will not respond. Keep the correct key, NFC card or connected phone key with you, and note whether any exterior light, handle, screen or app response remains. If there has been a collision, water ingress, smoke, heat, chemical smell or visible cable damage, stop and use roadside or emergency help.

  • Try the remote key once from beside the driver door; do not repeatedly cycle it.
  • Check whether the XPENG app reports the vehicle as offline rather than unlocked.
  • Confirm the traction-battery state of charge if it was known before the vehicle stopped responding.
  • Have the exact 2025 G6 right-hand-drive handbook available before opening any cover.

What to do

Before you start, read the complete sequence. Follow these steps in order and stop if the vehicle shows a stronger warning than the one described here.

  1. If the vehicle wakes, allow it to reach a normal powered state and check for a low-voltage warning. Do not continue repeatedly locking and waking it.
  2. If it remains unresponsive, open the handbook at the Emergency Rescue section headed “Jump Start”. The documented access point is under the front-trunk maintenance cover and fuse-box cover.
  3. Use only a suitable 12 V DC auxiliary supply and follow the polarity and connection order printed in the handbook. Do not guess terminal locations from another XPENG model.
  4. After auxiliary power is connected, follow the handbook’s power-off/key-present/brake-pedal sequence. If the car starts, disconnect in the reverse order and refit every cover.

Expected result

You should expect the following result when the documented route is successful: A successful procedure restores the instrument panel or central display and allows the vehicle to enter a normal start-ready state. A recovered car still needs the cause checked: low traction-battery charge, extended locked storage or a low-voltage-system fault can all produce a repeat failure.

If it still does not work

Stop after one careful handbook-led attempt if the correct terminals are unclear, the supply becomes hot, there is sparking beyond the normal connection moment, or the vehicle remains dead. Contact XPENG support or roadside assistance and say: “2025 G6 RHD, completely unresponsive, handbook low-voltage procedure attempted, result…” Include the traction-battery percentage and any warning seen before shutdown.

Safety and model boundary

The low-voltage system is not the orange-cabled traction-battery system. Never touch orange components, dismantle the battery, improvise a ground point or use a charger with an unsuitable voltage. The handbook warns that wrong connections can cause explosion or personal injury.
