Digital access is not proof of ownership
The vehicle record, legal documents, physical keys and app access are separate parts of a safe handover. Seller, buyer and retailer should coordinate all four.
Seller checklist before handover
- Use the handbook-approved route to remove personal destinations, paired phones, call records and saved media.
- Sign out of connected services and remove payment methods from charging or parking apps.
- Gather every key, NFC card, charging cable, manual and service record.
- Photograph the mileage, condition and items being handed over.
- Confirm what a factory reset or profile deletion will erase before using it.
Unbind through the official route
- Follow the current XPENG UK app-unbinding process or instructions from an authorised retailer.
- Do not give the buyer your password or one-time security code.
- If the vehicle remains bound, record the VIN and prepare the proof of ownership requested by official support.
- Keep written confirmation of the transfer request and completion.
Buyer activation checks
- Confirm the ownership transfer before adding the vehicle to the new account.
- Pair the buyer’s phone while parked.
- Test remote status, locking permissions, charging information and notifications.
- Test a physical key or NFC backup before relying on phone-only access.
Features can differ by vehicle, XOS build and account region. MyXPENG will never ask for an owner password, security code or identity document. Always confirm the current live XPENG UK process because requirements can change.
